Road and Rail Inspectorate
As a result of scanning roads and railways with a georadar, radarograms are obtained. According to radarogram data, the interpreter of the georadar data determines the boundaries of the bottom (base) and the state of the groundwater level.
Road and Rail Inspectorate

Research of existing road structures
Assessment of the condition of road structures and clarification of the causes of damage to road sections;
Determination of the thickness of the old screed;
Assessment of the water permeability condition of structures and clarification of pipeline sites;
Assessment of road supporting structures based on the determination of the thickness of the layers and the humidity of the ground cover;
Monitoring of changes in the condition of road structures;
Determination of the thickness of the ice on technological roads and the thickness of the freezing layer on roads in winter;
ROAD RESEARCH AND DESIGN
Study of ground and hydrogeological conditions in the track strip;
Determination of groundwater level;
Assessment of the contours and depth of the watershed bed near the bridges;
Study of the place of placement of engineering communications;
Research and assessment of stocks of road building materials in quarries, etc.

QUALITY CONTROL DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR WORKS OF MOTORWAYS
Evaluation of the quality of the creation of the earth’s surface;
Assessment of the thickness of the newly constructed road surface layers;
Evaluation of the sealing quality and humidity of the laid materials.
If the road surface has obvious defects, then you no longer need to use the georadar – it’s time to start replacing the pavement. As a preventive measure, an expert examination should be carried out with the help of a georadar. In this case, the georadar will not only protect the road from complete wear and tear, but also save funds for its restoration.
Against the background of research with a georadar, the design thicknesses of the constructive layers of the road surface are often not observed. In addition, where the design thickness of the base layer is not observed, the thickness of the screed is increased during later repairs.

WITH THE HELP OF A GEORADAR, IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO DETECT SUCH DEFECTS OF THE ROAD SURFACE
Zones of soil settling and decrease in the density of the bottom, deformations of the coast;
Surface and groundwater infiltration zones;
Heterogeneous, dusty bottom areas;
The spatial arrangement of the base of the cage layer;
Very wet and washed out areas at the bottom base.
Summing up the above about the georadar, let us note that at the moment the most accurate data on the state of the road surface can be obtained using an economical, safe, reliable and non-destructive assessment method in which the georadar is used.
