Artec 3D launches new ultra-high-resolution 3D scanner: Artec Spider II
Global 3D scanning leader Artec 3D has launched Artec Spider II , a new handheld 3D scanner.
Spider II is a new standard for resolution and capture of parts.
Designed to measure complex objects with an impressive level of detail, the Spider II scans quickly, at ultra-high resolution.
These features make it great for applications that require a lot of attention to detail— from in-depth reverse engineering to creating images generated by a hyperrealistic computer.
Building on the success of its industry-favorite predecessor, the Artec Space Spider, the Spider II offers significant improvements, including greater depth and field of view, shooting speed and resolution.
In practice, this means digitizing everything from small parts of the surface of coins to whole engine blocks with a resolution of 0.05 mm.
Spider II captures data four times faster – at 30 FPS.
The volumetric capture area of the 1800 cm³ device is also twice as large, so it can scan larger objects, complex geometries and sharp edges effortlessly and without errors, while ensuring that no detail remains elusive.
With its versatile design, lightweight 950-gram body and functionality, the Spider II is very simple to use. Capable of capturing scanning stunningly high-resolution small and medium-sized objects, Spider II allows you to create larger, more realistic 3D models in industries where detail plays a big role.
For example, in design, the device’s excellent color capture capabilities make it an effective tool for artists who want to implement their creative visions with real 3D models.
When it comes to body scans, the Spider II excels in capturing tiny anatomical details like ears, wrinkles, and even fingerprints. The obtained medical data can be used to customize the device, monitor patients, digital diagnosis of twins and more.
With an accuracy of 0.05 mm and improved resolution, the Spider II , which is ideal for reverse engineering in industries with few tolerances, such as the automotive industry and manufacturing.
Alongside Spider II Artec 3D has unveiled Artec Point, a highly accurate new laser 3D scanner designed to meet the demand of industrial metrology customers.
