After being acquired by AMETEK earlier this year, FARO, Creaform , and Virtek now operate under one division, Ultra Precision Technologies, creating a strong product portfolio. The introduction of the handheld scanner in the FARO range reflects the close cooperation between the two companies, with a joint focus on providing integrated solutions to the manufacturing industry.

HandySCAN BLACK|Elite has been part of the Creaform lineup since 2019 and has proven its worth as a major player in the handheld scanning market. Optimized to meet the needs of design, manufacturing and metrology specialists, the scanner is a metrology-level handheld solution designed for accurate and reliable 3D measurements in a variety of part sizes, surface types and materials.

The product will now integrate with CAM2 so that existing FARO customers can stay in their native software ecosystem, while newcomers to the 3D scanning market can enjoy the best that the software has to offer.
